My Testimony

I grew up in a family that loved the Lord Jesus. It was so normal to read the Bible and get together with other Christians. However, sometime after graduating from college, my heart began to become hardened toward the Lord. I felt that many things happening to me and to my family were unfair. I didn't understand how God could allow these things to happen. It was in this condition that I moved away from home to begin a master's degree program. I'm not sure if I was running away from the Lord, but I was definitely not intending to seek out Christian fellowship. I knew a few Christians there, but it took several weeks before I called one of them up to tell her I had moved into town. Her immediate response was to invite me over for dinner with some other students. Over the next several months I began to meet together with these Christians. The Lord slowly warmed up my heart. These brothers and sisters were really becoming my family.

I began to read the Bible with another graduate student. As we got to know each other and prayed together, the Lord touched us to pray and care for some other students. Soon, we were having a Bible study with a few undergraduates and getting together at other times for dinner or grocery shopping. Through this whole experience, the Lord began to heal my heart and stir me up to have a life actively seeking Him and His purpose. I began to relearn what I had experienced as a younger Christian: my life was so much more filled with meaning when I met with other Christians who could help me pursue Jesus Christ. Through all of these experiences, He became so much more real to me. I love the Lord Jesus!
