Testimonies My TestimonyMy name is Ji-Hye Han. I’m an exchange student from Korea. I’ve enjoyed meeting with Christians on Campus during my eight months here. The students in the group have been a good pattern to me of living a normal and balanced Christian life. Even though I have a lot to do and can be stressed out, I am learning to turn to the Lord time after time and even to study with the Lord. There are some families near OU that open their houses and take care of students. I’ve been going to one family’s home for eight months. I found that I can have spiritual moms, dads, sisters and brothers. I’m spiritually nourished by them and I can tell that I’ve grown up a lot in my spiritual life. Also, I’ve gained the Lord and learned how to pursue the Lord in regularly reading the Bible, reading other Christian books, and attending the college meeting every Saturday. These kinds of things make me grow. I’m so happy to have these experiences of life. I can be very weak when I am alone in my Christian life. Every time I met with Christians on Campus, on campus or in the home meeting, I was really encouraged by their enjoyment of Christ. On the campus, the Bible study is like a small opportunity to come to the Lord in the middle of exhausting classes. It’s a showering of encouraging words, a refreshing reminder of the promises in the Bible. I have believers with me who can encourage me and I encourage them to pursue the Lord. After the Bible study, I’m energized, encouraged, and nourished. We studied 1 Peter this semester. Today I enjoyed 1 Peter 4:8. “Above all have fervent love among yourselves, because love covers a multitude of sins.” I enjoyed that love covers everything. It doesn’t expose. We may gossip or criticize or judge each other when we don’t have love in us. In the Bible study I realized I can’t love by myself. I need God as my love to love others. At first I was discouraged because I saw how much I was lacking, but then I was encouraged because I saw it wasn’t a matter of my effort but of depending on the Lord and being saturated with Him who is love. I hope that more students at OU would experience what I have. I want to share my experience with all of the other students. Ji-Hye |
